posted in: News | 0

Burt, NY – Last month Black Willow Winery was awarded a prestigious 91 point rating for their Trilogy Red wine. The red wine blend was also voted a “Best Value” and took home Gold status in the Tastings.com World Value Wine Challenge in the category “Top 10 Red Wines $20 and Under.”

The Tastings.com World Value Wine Challenge is one of America’s most influential annual wine competitions and has been operated objectively for 18 years. It is a blind tasting, medal-based competition that awards based on a 100-point scale. Wines are judged by Tastings.com’s trained staff joined by top Wine professionals and buyers from retailers and restaurants using a proven, consistent, proprietary methodology developed in collaboration with Cornell University. The Tastings.com World Value Wine Challenge distributes its monthly results to consumers and the trade through Tastings.com, a free consumer website with tens of thousands of unique users a month on its searchable databases and via social media @tastingsbti.

Besides this recent award, the winery in it’s seventh year of business has received six more 90 points and above ratings, plus 1 Platinum, 13 Gold, 13 Silver, and 8 Bronze awards, and several other “Best in Class” and “Best Buy” ratings.

For the third year in a row, Black Willow Winery was also named “New York Mead Producer of the Year,” an honor given by the New York International Wine Competition. The competition also awarded their signature mead (honey wine), Odin’s Nectar, a gold medal and Bare Cat Blush a bronze.
