Black Willow Wines Awarded at National Event

Burt, NY – Six wines from Black Willow Winery were heavily awarded at the 2014 American Wine Society Competition. Held in Charlotte-Concord, South Carolina October 28th – 30th, the competition reviewed over 500 wines and spirits all of which were judged blind and by panel consensus.

Black Willow Winery’s Odin’s Nectar, a traditional honey mead, along with Valkyrie’s Lure, a traditional mead with pear and cinnamon were both honored with a prestigious Double Gold awards. Also gilded at the event, were Trilogy Red with a Silver Award, and DePeche Meow, Chardonnay, Riesling with Bronze.

The American Wine Society Competition has been an annual event since the 1986 AWS National Conference. Judges are selected from a broad spectrum of wine industry professionals, including marketers, writers and wine makers.
