Burt, NY – Black Willow Winery wines have had a banner year for medals as they prepare to celebrate their 5-year anniversary on December 12th. The winning streak continues with several awards from Tastings.com and Tasters Guild.
Leading the list from the Tastings.com challenge with an Exceptional 90 Points was Trilogy Red, a dry red wine blend, which garnered a Gold medal and Best Buy rating. Trilogy Red was followed in points by Classic Diamond with the Highly Recommended 88 Points, a Silver medal and another Best Buy award. Additionally, Riesling was Highly Recommended with 86 Points, Silver medal and Best Buy award. Other honorees included Cabernet Franc (86 Points/Silver), Bare Cat Blush (84 Points/Bronze) and Black Widow Berry (84 Points/Bronze).
The 2015 Consumers Wine Judging by Tasters Guild included wines from four countries and fourteen states, judged by 16 consumer panelists in Port Aransas, TX on September 25th and 26th. This competition yielded Gold medals for Flight 6.1.37, a dessert wine with hints of coconut, chocolate and fig, Classic Diamond and Chardonnay. Silver medalists included Black Widow Berry, Cabernet Franc and Riesling. Additionally, Bronze medals were awarded to Bare Cat Blush, Odin’s Nectar – a traditional honey mead, and Trilogy White.
