Burt, NY – Black Willow Winery continued their winning streak at the 2015 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and 2015 Winemakers Challenge International Wine Competition.
At the Finger Lakes International, a total of 3,708 wines from 27 countries, all 50 states and 6 Canadian provinces were reviewed by 73 judges selected from over 20 countries. Among the top contenders, Black Willow Winery’s Classic Diamond was awarded the prestigious Double Gold, an honor reserved for those wines selected as best in their class. Classic Diamond has not only won other awards but has been featured across many media outlets for it’s cameo in the Academy Award Winning film, Still Alice.
Silver medals were also awarded at the Finger Lakes International to Black Willow Winery’s traditional mead, Odin’s Nectar, and to Valkyrie’s Lure mead blended with cinnamon and pear. Three (3) additional Bronze medals for Bare Cat Blush, Chardonnay and Trilogy Red rounded out their awards. Black Willow’s Classic Diamond also earned a respectable 90 Points rating and Gold medal at the Winemakers Challenge International Competition, with the red wine blend, Trilogy Red, also picking up an 88 point rating and Silver medal as well.
